It has the same preset height and pressure settings for the presser foot,which can be annoying, but attempts to make up for it by other bonuses, such as automatic needle  threading, and snap on presser foot attachments.

For an all-purpose sewing machine, the Brother CS-6000 is the best sewing machine on the market. Amateur and professional users alike will appreciate the ease of use, and complete portability, making this  sewing machine  a joy to use.

Be warned that it is not the best choice for elaborate embroidery, because there are other Brother models betters suited for that. But for all-around usage, this is the obvious choice for most sewing applications.
